APPLICATION GUIDE
APPLICATION GUIDE
-
Initial Surface Preparation: All target surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry, and entirely free from loose dust, grease, oil, old peeling layers, or any loose materials.
-
New Unpainted Cement or Plaster Surfaces: No initial priming is required. Ensure the concrete rendering, fair faced concrete, plaster, brick, or stone is dry and clean. Apply 3 full coats of Apollo Weatherguard, allowing at least 4 hours of drying time between each coat.
-
Previously Painted Surfaces: If the old paintwork is still in stable, good condition, clean the area thoroughly, rub the surface down smooth, and apply 2–3 coats of Apollo Weatherguard.
-
Brick and Asbestos Surfaces: These highly absorbent surfaces should be sealed first with 1 coat of Apollo Paints Acrylic Sealer to reduce excessive suction, followed by 2–3 coats of Apollo Weatherguard.
-
Painter Guidelines: Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use. Always use a good quality brush, try to paint in one smooth continuous motion, and always execute a pretest on a small, hidden area first.
-
A Note on Deep Shades: When overcoating a dark shade with a light color, 3 full coats may be required. On rich dark base shades (like bright Reds, Greens, or Oranges), expect to apply an additional coat as these specialized shades possess lower natural opacity.

PRECAUTIONS AND SAFETY
-
Temperature Limitation: Only apply this product when the ambient and surface temperatures are 10°C and above.
-

Fungal Pre-Treatment: In high-humidity climates or high-moisture zones, scrub the surfaces down with a recommended bio-wash solution to fully eliminate surface fungus growth, fungal spores, or mould before applying your new paint system.
-
Post-Application Cleaning: For simple stain removal down the line, sponge clean using a mild soap solution and wipe dry. Important: Ensure the painted surface has dried and cured for at least 1 full week before attempting any wet cleaning. Refer to the MSDS for additional health and safety information.
