APPLICATION GUIDE

  • Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be clean, dry, and thoroughly free from structural dust, grease, oils, or loose surface materials.

  • New Unpainted Cement or Plaster Surfaces: If the raw surface is highly dry and absorbent, apply 1 base coat of Apollo Paints Alkali Resistant Primer or Apollo Paints Universal Undercoat. Follow up by applying 2–3 full coats of Apollo Paints Vinyl Matt Emulsion using the recommended thinning percentages.

  • Previously Painted Surfaces: If the existing paint layer is structurally sound and in good condition, clean the surface, rub it down smoothly, and apply 2–3 coats of Apollo Paints Vinyl Matt Emulsion.

  • Brick and Asbestos Surfaces: These surfaces must be sealed first with 1 coat of Apollo Paints Acrylic Sealer to successfully normalize absorption, followed directly by 2–3 coats of Vinyl Matt Emulsion.

  • Application Guidelines: Always stir the emulsion thoroughly before and during usage. Always utilize a high-quality brush, try to apply paint in one uniform motion, and always execute a test patch on a small area first.

  • Deep Shade Notice: When overcoating an existing dark shade with a lighter tone, 3 full coats may be required. For intense dark shades (like bright Reds, Greens, Oranges, and Yellows), an additional coat will be required to counteract lower natural opacity

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Temperature Limitations: Do not attempt application when air or surface temperatures drop below 10°C or climb above 35°C.

  • Workspace Air Quality: Guarantee excellent, continuous ventilation throughout both the application and structural drying phases.

  • Storage Protocols: Store the closed containers under ambient conditions in well-ventilated locations completely away from any source of ignition, open flames, or fire. Protect the paint from freezing conditions.

  • Personal Protection: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Avoid skin and eye contact. In case of accidental skin or eye contact, flush instantly with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice if localized symptoms persist. Do not inhale or inject; immediately move to fresh air if inhalation occurs and seek medical attention if symptoms persist.

  • Fungal Defenses: In high-humidity climates or damp areas, scrub the surface with a recommended bio-wash solution to remove existing surface fungus growth, fungal spores, and mould before applying the new paint system.

  • Curing & Washability: For safety removing stains down the line, sponge clean using a mild soap solution and wipe clean. Crucial Instruction: Ensure the newly painted wall has dried and cured for at least 1 full week before attempting any wet cleaning or scrubbing. Keep completely out of reach of children.
